Velocity starts in the sequence, not the arm.

Searched as "how to increase pitching velocity". Here is what the phrase actually means, what the video shows, and how a measured report ends the argument.

What it looks like

What is actually happening

Real velocity comes from the kinematic sequence: hips fire, trunk follows, arm goes last and gets the whip for free. When the order breaks, effort substitutes for mechanics and the plateau arrives. We do not measure ball speed from phone video, and we say so plainly. What we measure is the engine that produces it: rotation speeds, hip and shoulder separation, sequence timing, stride, and the front-leg post that turns forward momentum into rotation.

What we measure to find it

Every measurement comes from computer vision body tracking on one phone video, 33 landmarks on every frame, the same class of kinematic analysis professional organizations run on their players. Estimates are labeled EST, and no ball speed numbers are invented.

Drills that help

Sequence throws

Rocker or step-behind throws at 70 percent effort with one focus: feel the hips finish before the arm starts.

Post and throw

Firm front leg drills. A braced front side is the single most common missing link in slow-armed deliveries.

Drills are constraints, not lectures: set the task and let the player's body solve it. They work best aimed at the measured leak, which is the point of measuring first.

Stop guessing. Measure it.
